CFF - TUDEV has developed new programmes of study as follow :
    • 1-Year English preparation programme satisfying the requirement for entry onto the new 3-Year IMO/BTEC (International Maritime Organisation/Business Technology Education Council) – HND (Higher National Diploma) in Marine Engineering and Navigation Engineering. These Diplomas are accepted in Europe and in most countries. These programmes have been integrated with appropriate NVQs (National Vocational Qualifications) or SVQ (Scottish vocational qualification)and Ancillary requirements.
    • The 3-Year IMO/HND Programmes are delivered in the subjects stated above in English.
    • Students successfully completing the new 3-Year programme of study will have the opportunity to progress onto one or two year final stage degree programmes.
    • The programme leads to the Class 1 Certificate of Competency consists of the IMO/Edexcel [BTEC] HND in Marine Engineering and also in Navigation Engineering together with the STCW 95/98 ancillary courses followed by a period of consolidation of education at sea.
Negotiations have already taken place with awarding bodies, training boards, professional institutions and several Marine and Naval colleges/universities in Europe to ensure CFF - TUDEV could offer all the internationally recognised programmes for Deck Officers and Engineer Officers in Turkey.

For sea service requirement and workshop practice please contact us for detailed information.

    Important Note:

Higher National Diploma (HND) in Marine Engineering Professional Body recognition

The BTEC Higher Nationals in Marine Engineering have been developed in conjunction with Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) with career progression and recognition by professional bodies in mind. It is essential that learners gain the maximum benefit from their programme of study. Consequently we have added value to this qualification by acquiring recognition from the Engineering Council’s UK-SPEC regulations requirement.
Further details of professional body recognition and exemptions for BTEC Higher Nationals are given in the publication BTEC Professional Recognition which is available on Edexcel’s website (www.edexcel.org.uk).

Higher National Diploma (HND) in Navigation Industry and regulatory recognition

The BTEC Higher National Diploma in Nautical Science has been developed in conjunction with the Merchant Navy Training Board (MNTB), Maritime and Coast guard Agency (MCA) and the International Association of Maritime Institutions (IAMI), in order to meet MCA requirements for professional certification. It is essential that learners gain the maximum benefits from their programme of study, and consequently value has been added to this HND by acquiring recognition from the MCA as meeting the academic knowledge requirements for the MCA certificates of Competency at Officer of the Watch and Chief Mate level and hence the requirement in the International Maritime Organisation’s (IMO) concention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping 1995 (STCW 95). The units required to meet MCA requirements for certificates of competency are shown in the table at Annex B.
